Word Families in IELTS Task 2 Writing (Technology)
Read the first three paragraphs of the IELTS Task 2 Writing answer presented below then consider the questions that follow.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of technology for future generations?
In an era defined by rapid technological advancements there are a number of benefits but also several concerns regarding impending impact that will be discussed in this essay.
Firstly, if technological (1) innovation continues at its current pace, future generations will be able to (2) enjoy unparalleled (3) convenience and (4) efficiency. For instance, advancements in automation and artificial intelligence (AI) have the potential to streamline various industries, leading to increased productivity and economic growth. In the first paragraph of the essay, we can see that the word ‘technology’ from the question has been changed to ‘technological advancements’.
In the IELTS exam, you need to show a wide range of vocabulary. It is also important to try to avoid repeating the same words found in the question, especially in the first paragraph of your essay.
Thinking about other words in a word family can help you expand your vocabulary and help you to avoid repetition.
