IELTS speaking assessments

2 live speaking tests and feedback sessions included in the MASTER Membership!

We run the mock speaking assessments (just like the IELTS test!) through WhatsApp or Skype, followed by a 15 minute discussion session where we talk about your strengths and areas for improvement, as well as giving you an estimated band score.

Every support tutor on our site has been trained as a British Council IELTS examiner and has a minimum of 15 years experience.

After we have conducted the live speaking assessment, we then spend about 15 to 20 minutes talking about your strengths but mainly focusing on what you need to change or develop in order to reach your desired band score.

2 x one to one live speaking assessments are included in the the MASTER membership, as well as 10 writing assessments.

How does the speaking assessment work?

First you book your appointment through the members area. Then, at the time you have requested, we will contact you on Skype to conduct the speaking assessment, which takes approximately 15 minutes. Straight after the assessment, your personal tutor will spend a few minutes putting together their notes about your speaking practice, then will call you back for a feedback session (this also takes about 15 minutes). We will tell you your strengths and weaknesses, and make recommendations for further improvement. You also have the chance to ask any questions you may have.

Do I need to call you? Will you call me on a mobile device?

We use Skype or Whatsapp for the speaking assessments, which can be downloaded onto a mobile device.

When can I book my appointment for the speaking?

You can book any time between 8am and 7pm New Zealand time. You need to let us know your required date and time at least 48 hours in advance. Once you have booked your appointment, we will email back to confirm – it is then your responsibility to be online and ready at the time of the booking. If you are not online within 5 minutes of the arranged time, we will reschedule your appointment one more time.
